BEING A KING entails having whatever you want, which is exactly what happened with this insane one-of-a-kind Rolls-Royce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The king in question was Morocco’s Hassan II, who felt his standard 1977 Rolls-Royce Carmargue wasn’t cutting it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was a beautiful car with one flaw: it couldn’t be driven off-road for falcon hunting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By the way, I’m hunting with falcons. Not falcon hunting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That’s when Hassan realized he was a king and could make things right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He commissioned famous Swiss coachbuilder Sbarro to design and build such a car at a high cost, and the result is what you see here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The roof of the car has been removed, the front screen has been replaced with a folding one, the doors have been removed completely, and a custom interior has been installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the back, what appears to be a grab handle has been installed, which also serves as a convenient perch for the king’s falcons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finally, there’s new blue paint and body modifications like flared wheel arches to accommodate the massive new wheels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A standard Carmargue cost around \u00a330,000 in 1977, or \u00a3200,000 in today’s money, and these modifications would have cost hundreds of thousands more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The German seller doesn’t appear to be having much luck – the car was first listed for sale in 2016 but clearly did not sell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
