Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired a critical meeting to evaluate strategies for addressing urban flooding and river erosion in the province.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

She stressed the need for a comprehensive flooding plan to protect public safety and infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, the Chief Minister gave in-principle approval for purchasing modern machinery to combat urban flooding and directed the cleaning of floodways under motorways, highways, and railway tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also approved a plan to lower green belt levels to ensure effective drainage of rainwater from roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maryam Nawaz highlighted the urgency of rehabilitating and improving the sewage system, particularly in cities where roads are frequently submerged during heavy rains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
