Pahalgam incident, followed by India\u2019s swift accusation against Pakistan and targeted strikes on nine
Pakistani positions, has reignited tensions in a region already on edge. Pakistan\u2019s firm denial and demand for an impartial investigation was met with further Indian military operations, prompting a strong and immediate response from Islamabad. Though a ceasefire has been declared, both nations now exist in a constant state of near-war \u2014 a situation that benefits neither side.
For over 75 years, India and Pakistan have lived with unresolved disputes, each blaming the other for extremism and cross-border violence. But today\u2019s changing global order, with China\u2019s deepening presence and new regional blocs emerging, demands maturity, not militarism. Both countries face common challenges: poverty, youth unrest, water security, and economic pressures. War is no longer winnable \u2014 diplomatically, economically, or morally. It is imperative that India and Pakistan sit down for dialogue \u2014 not as adversaries, but as neighbors. A neutral venue like Saudi Arabia or Qatar could serve as a starting point. The path forward must involve transparency, accountability, and a genuine will to descalate. The alternative is decades more
