{"id":22221,"date":"2026-07-21T13:47:03","date_gmt":"2026-07-21T08:47:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyrapidnews.com\/eng\/?p=22221"},"modified":"2026-07-21T13:47:07","modified_gmt":"2026-07-21T08:47:07","slug":"pakistan-imf-fail-to-agree-on-rs1-7-trillion-gas-debt-settlement-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyrapidnews.com\/eng\/2026\/07\/21\/pakistan-imf-fail-to-agree-on-rs1-7-trillion-gas-debt-settlement-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan, IMF fail to agree on Rs1.7 trillion gas debt settlement plan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Pakistan&#8217;s gas sector circular debt has climbed to Rs3.3 trillion, while the government and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have yet to reach an agreement on a plan to reduce the burden by Rs1.7 trillion, according to official sources.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sources said virtual discussions were recently held between Pakistani authorities and the IMF on a settlement plan aimed at reducing the circular debt, but both sides failed to agree on a final framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the talks, the IMF proposed new conditions for the settlement plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the sources, the lender insisted that losses incurred by gas companies should also be reflected in the settlement plan.
