The National Institute of Special Education (NISE) is in the process of developing and designing the uniform sign language books for hearing-impaired persons which will be completed within the next six months, said an official source on Monday.<\/p>\n

The institute had initiated the process to develop and design the uniform sign language books in 2019-2020 and will be able to complete this task tentatively within the next six months, said the official.<\/p>\n

“The stakeholders such as hearing-impaired persons, representatives of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and\u00a0sign language experts\u00a0from all provinces are actively involved to complete the task of sign or silent language books,” the official added.<\/p>\n

The process of developing and designing uniform sign language books was started keeping in view the fact that the sign language for the hearing-impaired children had been taught differently in different areas of the country, the official stated.<\/p>\n

As language patterns, such as pronunciation and dialect, of different areas vary, the changes are also visible in sign language users, the official source added.<\/p>\n

“It is mandatory for the powers that be, to safeguard and work for the interest and wellbeing of every citizen without any discrimination or preferential treatment to anyone in all spheres of life such as economy, healthcare and education to name a few.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
