Nigeria received approval from the United States.
Despite reservations about basic human rights, the US State Department has confirmed the sale of 12 Viper attack helicopters to Nigeria, valued at about one billion dollars.
The purchase of AH-1Z Vipers includes guiding and night imaginative and prescient imaging components, as well as training, and is expected to cost $997 million.
It “would better equip Nigeria to contribute to shared security aims, sell nearby balance, and enhance interoperability with the US and other Western partners,” according to a statement released by the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency on Thursday.
“By boosting the security of a vital partner in Sub-Saharan Africa, this proposed sale will promote the United States’ foreign policy goals and national security objectives.”
