Punjab reduces transport fares massively following POL prices cut
Following the federal government’s recent announcement of a reduction in petrol prices, the Punjab government has swiftly implemented relief measures for citizens.
Under the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, transport fares across the province have been reduced to align with the decrease in fuel costs.
A new schedule for reduced private transport fares has been released for 37 cities across Punjab. The fare reductions range from Rs 40 to Rs 250, benefiting passengers across various routes.
Action Against Overcharging To ensure compliance with the new fare structure, authorities have conducted checks across the province. A total of 30 vehicles were halted for overcharging passengers, and fines amounting to Rs 358,500 were imposed on violators. These actions are part of the government’s efforts to provide immediate relief to the public and regulate transport services.
