Supreme Court orders transfer of Imran Khan to Shifa Hospital

The Supreme Court has ordered that the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, be transferred to Shifa International Hospital for a complete medical check-up, during a hearing concerning his meetings with family members and access to medical facilities.

The court also remarked that Dr Faisal Sultan and Dr Uzma Khan will also accompany Imran Khan to the hospital. It ordered that the PTI founder be allowed to meet his family once a week.

The former prime minister will remain in the hospital until the next hearing, the Supreme Court ordered, adding that the transfer be ensured within two days. 

The court also sought all of his medical records, details of meetings held over the past three years and records of telephone conversations with his children.

During the hearing, the Supreme Court directed authorities to provide all medical reports of Imran Khan.

Justice Shahid Waheed observed that if the medical records are submitted to the court, they would not remain confidential.
