Pakistan Assembly Deputy Spear: target of no confidence motion
LAHORE: In the midst of the Punjab Assembly squabble, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) filed a no-trust petition against Deputy Speaker Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari on Wednesday.
The incumbent political party filed the no-trust motion after the order to postpone today’s session until April 16 was not followed.
The resolution was brought against Mazari because of his distrust, and it was alleged that following the move, the deputy speaker was no longer entitled to call the House.
Deputy Speaker Mazari, on the other hand, voiced his worry about the province’s escalating political situation and insisted that, despite the no-trust resolution, he was entitled to call the House session in line with the legislation.
The incident occurred just days after the National Assembly’s deputy speaker, Qasim Suri, issued a contentious judgement in support of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s no-confidence vote.
