LAHORE: More than 2,500 Sikh yatrees are expected to come in Pakistan next week to celebrate the Vaisakhi holiday through the Wahga border crossing.

Shrines Rana Shahid, Deputy Secretary Imran Gondal, Pardhan Sardar Ameer Singh, and other Sikh leaders and board officials will receive the yatrees, according to information.

All arrangements, including security, will be made under the guidance of Evacuee Trust Property Board Chairman Dr Amir Ahmad, according to Rana Shahid.

The major ceremony will take place in Hassan Abdal’s Gurdwara Punja Sahib, with the Sikh yatrees returning to India on the 21st of this month.

The event, also known as Baisakhi, is held every year on April 13 or 14 to commemorate the Sikh solar new year.
