Minutes before the National Assembly (NA) session to vote on the no-confidence resolution against him, Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri resigned from his position.

The NA session was scheduled to begin at noon today, with Qasim Suri’s ouster and the election of a new speaker on the agenda.

The resignation was sent to the secretary national assembly office, according to the details.

There was no need for a vote on a no-confidence resolution against the deputy speaker after his departure.

It should be mentioned that, following Asad Qaiser’s resignation, Qasim Suri was named acting speaker of the National Assembly.

Before resigning, Qasim Suri accepted the resignations of 123 PTI members.
