The SBP has decided to reinstate the bank employees’ Saturday holiday.

In a notice, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced the restoration of the Saturday vacation for bank employees across the country.

SBP, on the other hand, has expanded working hours for the five-day week.

The central bank published a statement in this respect, stating that office hours will be 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

The federal administration had already announced that the Saturday holiday would not be reinstated in government offices.

The office hours, on the other hand, have been shortened. The working hours will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday.

Following his inauguration, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that government employees will only have one weekly day off (Sunday).

The decision drew a strong backlash from government employees, but the federation has opted to stick to the one weekly off choice.
