Bilawal Bhutto’s first trip to the United States as Minister.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari arrived in New York on Wednesday for his first official three-day visit to the United States since taking office, to attend a global food security forum.

FM Bilawal is in the United States at Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s request to attend a ministerial meeting on the ‘Global Food Security Call to Action,’ which begins today at the United Nations (Wednesday).

According to the source, Bilawal will have additional significant interactions on the sidelines, including a bilateral meeting with Secretary of State Antony Blinken today.

Bilawal arrived in New York on a commercial airline and was greeted by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

Deputy Permanent Representative Ambassador Aamir Khan, NY Consul-General Ayesha Ali, and other officers from Pakistan’s permanent mission to the UN and Embassy were also present to greet Bilawal.

At a UN Security Council meeting, the FM will take part in an open discussion. He is also expected to meet with the UN Secretary-General and the UNSC President.

The New York discussions are expected to go a great way toward repairing ties with the United States. During the Imran Khan administration, the relationship deteriorated. When Blinken called Bilawal to congratulate him on his new job, he extended an invitation to attend the New York meetings.

The New York meetings will bring together a broad mix of countries from throughout the world, including those from Africa.
