Rawalpindi police arrest Imran Khan in PTI protest case
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan was officially arrested on Wednesday by the Rawalpindi police in connection with the party’s protest on September 28, 2024.
According to details, the arrest took place at the Adiala jail, where Khan is currently detained. The police executed the arrest following a formal registration of charges against Imran Khan at the New Town police station.
He faced multiple charges under Sections 7 ATA, 21-I ATA, and various provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code, including sections 353, 186, 285, 286, 148, 149, 427, 109, and 188.
These charges related to his alleged involvement in the violent protest organised by the PTI.
Khan, who is already incarcerated in a separate case, will be presented in court tomorrow for a physical remand hearing.
