Punjab cabinet approves budget with Rs752bn development outlay

The Punjab Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has approved the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 after a detailed discussion on revenue, development priorities and public welfare initiatives.

The budget was formally approved during a special cabinet meeting, with Maryam Nawaz describing it as a “budget of hope” aimed at providing maximum relief to the people while placing the least possible burden on them.

The cabinet meeting was also attended by provincial ministers and other cabinet members. During the meeting, the provincial budget for FY2026-27 was discussed in detail before receiving cabinet approval.

Maryam also signed the provincial budget document for the new fiscal year.

Addressing the cabinet, the chief minister thanked God for giving her the opportunity to present her third budget.
