England win toss, elect to bowl against Pakistan in Leeds Test

England won the toss and elected to bowl first against Pakistan as the Test series got underway in Leeds, with Salman Ali Agha taking charge in the absence of injured Babar Azam.

Salman Ali Agha is leading Pakistan in the first Test after Babar Azam was ruled out of the match due to injury.

Salman revealed that he was informed about the captaincy at the last moment, adding that Pakistan would have chosen to bat first had they won the toss.

Pakistan make changes to playing XI

Pakistan have included Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Ali and Khurram Shahzad in the team for the opening Test.

Salman said the decision to include the three pacers was part of Pakistan’s preparations for the Test, while England opted to make use of the conditions by bowling first after winning the toss.

Pakistan suffer early setback

Pakistan’s innings got off to a difficult start when their first wicket fell on the very first ball of the match.

Azan Owais was dismissed off the opening delivery, giving England an immediate advantage after choosing to field first.
