Houthis attack Saudi Arabia again with missiles, drones
Yemen’s Houthi rebels have launched another attack on Saudi Arabia, targeting the southwestern cities of Khamis Mushait, Abha and Jazan with ballistic missiles and drones, according to the Saudi-led coalition.
The latest strikes came a day after Houthi attacks on four Saudi cities wounded 73 people and set oil installations ablaze, marking a sharp escalation in hostilities between the two sides.
The Saudi-led coalition said on Wednesday that Houthi forces attacked Khamis Mushait, Abha and Jazan using ballistic missiles and drones.
Coalition spokesman Turki al-Malki said the Iran-aligned Houthis were continuing what he described as “heinous attacks” against Saudi Arabia’s national assets and infrastructure.
Saudi Civil Defense also issued emergency warnings for Abha and Khamis Mushait, cautioning residents about a “potential danger”. The alerts were later lifted after the immediate threat had passed.
Saudi authorities said security measures had been strengthened following the recent attacks.
Later, the authorities issued an all-clear in the southwestern province of Khamis Mushait for the fourth time in 24 hours. The danger had passed, the civil defence officials said shortly after the alert.
The coalition said the Houthis continued their attacks on national assets and infrastructure on Wednesday.
