PTI postpones Sept 27 long march
The PTI Political Committee has decided to postpone the party’s planned long march, with the new date to be determined by opposition leaders Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Nasir Abbas.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the PTI Political Committee, where key matters concerning the long march were discussed.
According to the decision, Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Nasir Abbas will determine when the long march will be held. The Political Committee did not announce a new date for the march following its decision to postpone the planned protest.
A final decision will be made in light of the directives issued by both leaders, the committee said.
“We will not tire; instead, we will outlast the opposition,” the PTI Political Committee said, proposing to launch the march any day between September 27 and October 5.
The meeting was attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, Barrister Gohar, Salman Akram Raja and other members of the PTI Political Committee.
The committee was scheduled to seek consensus on the final decision regarding the long march, with the outcome having been based on the views of party leaders. The committee also reviewed the blocking of routes and other official actions taken in connection with the planned long march.
Chief Minister Afridi, Barrister Gohar and Salman Akram Raja are currently in Peshawar, while other committee members joined the meeting via video link from different cities.
The latest decision marks a change in the PTI’s earlier plans for the long march, with further details expected after consultations between the opposition leaders.
