Passengers facing delays at Jeddah airport will be accommodated.

After the airport authorities shifted all international flights to the North Terminal due to a “massive rush” of air travelers, Minister for Aviation Khawaja Saad Rafique directed Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) management to provide hotel accommodation to passengers facing delays in getting flights from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Accordingly, the PIA Chief Executive Officer called the Jeddah airport officials and formally requested that Pakistani passengers be accommodated, according to PIA spokesman Abdullah Hafeez Khan.

For timely information about flights, he added PIA Station Manager Tariq Majeed and Deputy Station Manager Khizar could be reached at +966 54 3203438 and +966 55 4553342, respectively.

In a previous press statement, the spokesman explained the current situation at the Jeddah airport, saying that all airlines’ planes departing from Jeddah were experiencing lengthy delays.

Passengers at the airport were having trouble checking in because the North Terminal’s four boarding gates were insufficient to manage the increased number of passengers, he said. As a result, he predicted a delay in tonight’s (Tuesday) flights.

As a result, the PIA administration had issued instructions to provide all feasible amenities to its passengers, according to the spokesman, who added that the national flag carrier’s personnel in Jeddah were in close contact with Saudi authorities.

He stated that PIA’s local personnel, in partnership with the airport authorities, were working to decrease flight delays.
