9-year-old fighting brain cancer tests positive for COVID-19
Nine-year-old Naomi Short has been fighting stage four brain cancer for nearly two years. Now, another obstacle has been put in her way: she tested positive for COVID-19.
The diagnosis postpones an important scan to monitor her cancer.

Not much scares Naomi Short. She’s been deputized by the Butler County Sheriff’s Department, she’s ridden on a horse dressed as a unicorn without a spot of hesitation, and she’s fighting stage four brain cancer. The nine-year-old has had nine brain surgeries and 30 rounds of radiation, but a positive COVID-19 diagnosis last week melted her brave face.
This makes no sense to me, when will he be classified as urgent? Let the man and his family spend some time together before he dies.

“Well, I was really sad when I first found out. When I first found out I was positive for COVID, I started to cry, because I thought I was going to die. I can die from getting COVID,” said Naomi.
Because COVID-19 attacks the respiratory system, and Naomi is put under anesthesia for the lengthy scan, the Shorts say it has to be postponed a significant amount of time until they know for sure she is negative. This will avoid any potential issues.
