Pakistan’s Embassy & Consulate General Observed Kashmir Solidarity Day in KSA
Considering COVID-19’s precaution to show solidarity with the freedom fighters of Occupied Kashmir, the Embassy of Pakistan and Consulate General in Jeddah organized an event. In which leaders of Pakistan Overseas community, Pakistan Peoples Party, PML-N, PTI and other social organizations, media members participated, the speakers paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the Kashmiri community in the struggle for self-determination.
Presenting highlighting the dire human rights situation in Occupied Kashmir, the participants called on India to persecute these innocent Kashmiris who have been under this illegal occupation for the last seven decades.
The speakers condemned India’s arrogant violations of UN Security Council resolutions and said that it was fair and impartial to end state oppression and determine the aspirations of Kashmiris in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.
The international community should be called upon to intervene immediately to settle the claim. Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Raja Ali Ijaz, emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized “disputed” region, which has several UN Security Council resolutions have been confirmed. He said that the government of Pakistan and its people are fully committed to the Kashmir issue. Pakistan will always be the voice of conscience in the world for the rights of Kashmiri brothers and sisters, he said, adding that contrary to Indian claims of development in the Kashmir Valley, the BJP government’s extremist Hindutva ideology is the main target of the Muslim-majority area.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Consulate in Jeddah also hosted a function at the Consulate which was attended by a small number of Pakistanis at the Consulate and officials of Jeddah’s socio-political organizations online, in which the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan and The messages of the Foreign Minister were read out.
Special guests on the occasion were Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the OIC, Khursheed Matiar Pakistan Overseas Kashmir Community, Masood Ahmad Puri, President of the Kashmir Committee and Consul General Khalid Majeed and Ali Al Ghamdi, Former Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan addressed.
Khalid Majid said that Pakistanis everywhere, wherever they are, have a strong voice for the independence of Kashmir and we strongly condemn it. Freedom Fighters morale is high in Kashmir and this is a defeat for India.
