We support the army chief’s approach on US relations: ex-PM
ISLAMABAD: Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, a former prime minister and prominent leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), said on Saturday that his party backed whatever Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa said on Pakistan’s relations with the US.
“Outgoing Prime Minister Imran Khan has caused considerable harm to our relations with the United States,” Gilani told the reporters at the PPP’s Secretariat in Islamabad.
COAS Qamar Bajwa had previously stated at the National Security Dialogue in Islamabad that Pakistan and the United States had a long history of connections and that Pakistan wished to see those ties strengthened.
The former prime minister stated that the combined opposition will face whatever actions were taken against them.
