In India, the ‘Hijab prohibition’ has had an impact on Muslim girls’ education.

According to reports, a Muslim girl named Hiba Sheikh, who is pursuing her studies in India’s southern region of Karnataka, was unable to present in the practical session of her yearly examinations because the college’s management refused to allow pupils to wear hijab.

“My internal examinations were on March 3rd,” she said in her interview, “and the college administrators advised me to remove my hijab and then come to campus.” But it does not sit well with me.”

She said, “College authorities have been stopping Muslim females from entering the premises with headscarves under the cover of a Karnataka High Court ruling announced on March 15th that upheld the restriction on wearing hijab in classes.”

Because of the numerous institutes relating to information technology, electronics, and space, this action is harming the education of Muslim girls across the state, which is recognized as India’s science capital.

According to India’s national news agency, the Press Trust of India, 40 Muslim women students from Karnataka’s Udupi district have refused to take the pre-university exams.

“I’m concerned about my education,” Hiba stated. Exams are underway, and I’m at a loss about what to do. Every pupil is concerned.
