Sam Kerr completes a remarkable injury-time comeback as the Matildas overcome New Zealand late.

In Townsville, Emily van Egmond and Sam Kerr scored in additional time to give the Matildas a 2-1 friendly victory against trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand.

Despite dominating the game, the Matildas were on their way to their first loss against the Football Ferns since 1994 on Friday night, trailing 1-0 at the completion of the regulation 90 minutes.

Kerr pounced on a loose ball from a corner kick on the edge of the six-yard box to head the Matildas to a dramatic triumph. Van Egmond got on the end of Ellie Carpenter’s cross to hammer home the equalizer.

Anna hit a game-winning goal in the opener of their two-game series.
