PM Imran Khan has called a cabinet meeting over no-trust resolution
The federal cabinet meeting has been called tonight amid debate in the national assembly (NA) on the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.
The cabinet meeting, which will be chaired by Imran Khan, will begin at 9 p.m. at PM House.
According to sources, the prime minister will make significant decisions in light of the country’s current political position.
In the meanwhile, the vote on the no-confidence resolution in the NA has been postponed until after the publication of this report. The no-trust resolution is on the agenda of the lower house, which was reinstated by the Supreme Court after President Arif Alvi dissolved it on Sunday on the suggestion of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The opposition has described the government’s action as a breach of the constitution and a deviation from the Supreme Court’s orders.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), stated the opposition will wrest its constitutional prerogative from the administration during his speech in the National Assembly.
“If you want to conduct a conspiracy argument, we can do it for 100 days,” he continued, “but we will take away our fundamental freedom.”
