Narendra Modi congratulates Shehbaz Sharif on his election as Prime Minister
ISLAMABAD: India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on his election as Pakistan’s Prime Minister on Monday.
“Congratulations to H. E. Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on his election as Prime Minister of Pakistan,” Modi stated in a message on the social media network Twitter. India seeks peace and security in a terror-free area so that it can focus on its development issues and assure its people’s well-being and prosperity.”
President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, was sworn in as Prime Minister of Pakistan on Monday.
After winning a vote of no confidence in the National Assembly, Acting President and Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani delivered the oath of office to the newly-elected prime minister.
Parliamentarians, service leaders, and prominent officials were present for the event, which took place at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
