General Aslam Beg denies involvement with the fake social media post
General (retd) Mirza Aslam Beg, Pakistan’s former army leader, has denied involvement with a social media statement fraudulently ascribed to him, according to The News.
Gen. Aslam Beg remarked in a scathing audio message that the attack against him and the current army leadership is part of a smear effort against state institutions.
The former chief of army staff (COAS) declared the Pakistan Army his “pride and identity,” saying that every officer and soldier in the armed services deserves his undivided respect.
Beg concluded his speech by adding that the propaganda against the army was against morality and ethics, and that he would continue to speak as long as he lived.
