Ukraine’s military industry hit by strikes.

An AFP correspondent claims that attacks hit a military hardware plant in Kyiv early Saturday morning, a day after Russian forces destroyed a missile regiment outside the Ukrainian capital.

Smoke billowed from the area after Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko posted on social media that there had been explosions in the capital’s Darnyrsky district, prompting a huge police and military presence.

According to Russia’s defense ministry, Moscow’s forces attacked at least one location at a Kyiv armaments factory.

Invading Russian soldiers ceased retreating from areas surrounding Kyiv earlier this month and instead focused on retaking control of the eastern Donbas region, sparking this latest assault on Ukraine’s capital city.

Russian soldiers attacked the Vizar facility, which is near the capital’s international airport, as a result of the midnight strikes. The missile production plant was seriously damaged by the midnight bombings.

Russia claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement, alleging that it was carried out with long-range missiles launched from the sea.

Authorities are currently investigating whether anyone was killed or injured in the event, according to Klitschko.

The residential sections of Kyiv were repeatedly attacked when Russia invaded Ukraine in late February. The Kremlin claimed in a statement that it has no plans to attack civilian infrastructure.
