Zelensky sends Maasikas a completed EU membership questionnaire.

Matti Maasikas was provided with a completed questionnaire by President Volodymyr Zelensky in order to obtain EU candidate nation status.

“I’d want to thank you for convening this important meeting.” Today marks a turning point in our country’s road to join the European Union, an objective for which our people have toiled tirelessly. The President remarked, according to the press staff of the White House.

According to Zelensky, Ukraine’s march toward EU membership is taking place at a terrible time, when many Ukrainians who advocate for European values are dying. The people of Ukraine, he claims, are united by a same goal: to feel equal, as if they are members of Europe and the European Union.

We are optimistic that we will receive support and be accepted as an accession candidate. After then, the final process will begin. We are optimistic that this procedure will take place in the coming weeks and will be positive for our country’s history, given the price our people have paid on the road to independence and democracy,” continued the President.
