China to increase “strategic collaboration” with Russia.

China’s Foreign Ministry declared on Tuesday that despite changes in the world scene, China continues to strengthen strategic cooperation with Russia.

During a meeting with the Russian ambassador to China, Andrey Denisov, China’s Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng voiced this perspective.

“Regardless of how the international landscape changes, China and Russia will continue to strengthen strategic coordination to achieve win-win cooperation, jointly safeguard our common interests, and promote the development of a new type of international relations and a community with a shared future for mankind,” Le said.

As evidence of this, Le cites a 30 percent increase in trade between the two countries in the first quarter of this year, reaching $38.2 billion.

They also talked about the Ukraine crisis, as well as other foreign concerns.

Previously, Chinese officials were silent on the Ukraine conflict, neither condemning nor condoning Russia’s activities.

Prior to the invasion, both countries declared their unbreakable bond.
