Riyadh has been confirmed to host the World Combat Games in 2023.

On Sunday, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, head of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and Ivo Ferriani, president of the Global Association of International Sports Federations, signed a formal agreement confirming Riyadh as the host city for the 2023 World Combat Games.

The announcement that the event will be held in Saudi Arabia was made in May, and it has now been verified.

According to Prince Abdulaziz, this tournament would be the latest in a growing series of international sports events sponsored under the Saudi Vision 2030 banner, which aims to promote a healthier and more active lifestyle across the Kingdom.

He continued by stating that Saudi Arabia currently has the infrastructure in place to host the event, which would include 15 martial arts contests.

“We’re all excited to have so many world champions at these games,” he remarked.
