South Korea Committee to Strengthen Nuclear and Missile Defense Capabilities.
According to the South Korean presidential transition committee, President-elect Yoon Suk-government yeol’s will boost the country’s deterrence capability against nuclear and missile threats from North Korea.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un stated on Tuesday that his country will continue to develop its nuclear capabilities.
“North Korea’s nuclear and missile threats have become a severe and genuine menace to us,” the committee said in a statement. “Building the capacity to deter them is the most important priority.”
According to the statement, the new government plans to deepen the South Korean-US alliance and finish the construction of a three-axis reaction system to protect against potential North Korean nuclear and missile threats while also developing modern military technology and weaponry.
Over the course of his ten years in power, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has launched over 100 missiles, including four intercontinental missions and four nuclear missile tests. During his 17 years in leadership, Kim Jong Il, on the other hand, launched 16 missiles and conducted two nuclear tests.
