Hadiqa Kiani’s song ‘Buhe Bariyan’ stolen again by an Indian musician.
Hadiqa Kiani is regarded as one of the most powerful vocalists in Pakistan. The singer, who is recognized for singing in a range of languages, has experimented with a variety of musical styles and wowed audiences all over the world. One of Kiani’s songs, on the other hand, appears to be a fan favorite, at least among audiences on the opposite side of the border. Hadiqa Kiani originally recorded and released ‘Buhe Bariyan’ in 1998. This is the singer’s first Punjabi track. However, much to the singer’s dismay, Indian artists have repeatedly plagiarized this particular track.
Hadiqa Kiani announced on Instagram on April 28 that ‘Buhe Bariyan’ had been picked up for the second time by an Indian vocalist. There is no acknowledgement of the original creator. She wrote, “Another day, another shameless version of my mother’s song.” “No one has approached me for permission.” I have not received any royalties. “They just take the song my mum wrote and I recorded and make money off of it,” the artist explained. Indian musicians were chastised for stealing her work without her permission.
The most recent addition to the list is Kanika Kapoor’s version. Kiani warned her fans that the song had already been plagiarized.
She further added that some of these videos later honor her by stating in the credits, “original song: Buhe Bariyan by Hadiqa Kiani.”
Kiani also reminded her fans that before covering a song, she always obtains the rights to it. Obtaining permission from the original artist or paying royalties to the artist. Because it is the proper way to conduct business.
“I am alive and healthy; please ask me first if you want to perform one of my songs,” Kiani told her fans. She also added that she has no ill feelings toward Kanika Kapoor or any of the other musicians who have performed her songs in the past. “I’m really angry with the way they all seem to go about it,” Kiani said, emphasizing her discontent.
