Ten troops are killed in a blast in Somalia.
A roadside bomb in Somalia’s southern area killed ten servicemen and injured unknown others early Saturday, according to military officials.
The incident occurred when a convoy of military trucks transporting troops ran over an improvised explosive device placed by al-Shabab terrorists on the route between the districts of Balad and Jowhar, according to the Somali National Army (SNA) Radio.
According to SNA radio, “a convoy of military trucks from Mogadishu, led by Saney Abdulle (senior military), was on its way to Jowhar when the incident occurred some minutes after midnight.”
The newest incident in Somalia was claimed by Al-Shabab, an al-Qaida-affiliated terrorist group. Extremists from Al-Shabab, who oppose the ongoing election process, have launched a series of attacks.
