The Queen has decided to skip the traditional garden celebrations at Buckingham Palace.

The Queen will not attend the royal garden party season, which begins next week, according to Buckingham Palace.

Up to three garden parties are conducted every summer at the Palace and the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, though they haven’t been held in the last two years due to the pandemic.

The Queen, who is 96 years old, will not be attending any of the events this summer, it was announced today.

Instead, other members of the royal family will attend the celebrations in her place.

“Her Majesty the Queen will be represented at this year’s garden parties by other members of the royal family,” a spokeswoman said.

On May 11, May 18, and May 25, the celebrations will be held at Buckingham Palace. On June 25, the one at the Palace of Holyroodhouse will take place.

They will commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, with guests who have made a meaningful contribution to their communities being invited.

Because of her mobility challenges, the president has been unable to attend a number of significant events this year, but she has continued to perform virtual engagements and other tasks.

The monarch should not be anticipated at any public occasions in the future, according to courtiers, who will confirm on the day.

A spokesman at Buckingham Palace announced last week that the Queen hopes to attend the event.

During her reign, the Queen has opened Parliament on all but two occasions.

The only times her address was read by the Lord Chancellor were in 1959 and 1963, when she was pregnant with Prince Andrew and subsequently Prince Edward.

The Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend will begin in just over a month, commemorating the nation’s longest reigning head of state’s 70 years on the throne.

Trooping the Colour, beacon lighting, a Thanksgiving ceremony, the Epsom Derby, a pop concert at Buckingham Palace, and a stunning Jubilee Pageant on the streets of London are among the festivities.

It is unknown how many of the high-profile events the Queen will be able to attend, but she is particularly eager to attend the Commonwealth Games.
