Private tour companies and individuals have been asked by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony not to collect money from intended pilgrims in advance.

The ministry’s spokeswoman, Muhammad Umar Butt, told APP that the government has not yet let any tour operator to take money or applications for this year’s Hajj.

He claimed that some private tour companies and individuals are collecting money after Hajj registration, which is a completely prohibited and punishable behavior.

The spokeswoman advised travelers not to give their passports or money to anyone unless they were given a list of private tour operators. The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony will begin receiving Hajj applications through designated branches of scheduled banks in the coming days, according to official sources.

Hajj Policy 2022 will soon announce Hajj costs, age restrictions, immunizations, and other details. This year, Saudi Arabia has allocated 81,132 pilgrims to Pakistan to do Hajj.

Balloting will be used to decide on suggestions submitted by individuals or groups, according to the sources. According to the statement, Hajj quotas will be distributed 60:40 between public and private Hajj programmes.

Any Muslim who has the financial means to do so must perform the Hajj, one of Islam’s five pillars, at least once in his or her lifetime. This year’s festival drew almost 2.5 million people, making it one of the world’s largest religious gatherings.
