Amber Heard claims that she copied her testimony against Johnny Depp.
Amber Heard’s testimony against Johnny Depp on May 6 fueled rumors on social media that the Aquaman star’s testimony was ‘copied exactly’ from the film The Talented Mr. Ripley.
Several sources, however, took on the task of fact-checking the accusation and discovered that, while Heard’s testimony resembled Gwyneth Paltrow’s lines in the 1999 film, her statements were not literally plagiarized.
“The rumor that Amber Heard mentioned the movie The Talented Mr. Ripley in her evidence is untrue, the sentences were not said during her hearing,” Snopes noted, “the meme says the quote came from,” source reported.
“The meme claims the sentence originated from Heard’s ‘opening statement,'” according to Snopes. This is an unusual accusation, because it was Heard’s lawyer who made an opening statement on her behalf, not Heard herself.”
According to the sources, no video evidence that Heard said the statement has been discovered.
