Trudeau of Canada is committed to ensure Putin’s defeat in Ukraine.
According to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the world will do all possible to ensure that Russian President Vladimir Putin loses his war in Ukraine, including imposing long-term sanctions on Moscow.
“What Putin has to understand is that the West is utterly committed and resolved to stand against what he is doing,” Trudeau said in an interview with Reuters.
“We will do everything we can as a world to ensure that he loses because of his unlawful war, escalations, and crossing of red lines by choosing to further invade Ukraine.”
While speaking on the sidelines of an unexpected visit to Ukraine for talks with President Poroshenko, Trudeau said Putin is making a terrible mistake.
“He’s killing civilians because he thinks he can prevail.” However, he can only lose.” On the day of Russia’s commemorations of Nazi Germany’s defeat in World War II, which Moscow regards to as the Great Patriotic War of 1941-45, Trudeau offered some advice to Putin.
Europe commemorated the 77th anniversary of the Nazis’ surrender on Sunday. Russia celebrates its victory on May 9th. On May 8, 1945, at 11:01 p.m., Nazi Germany unconditionally surrendered (May 9 in Moscow).
During a video talk with Zelinsky on Sunday, Trudeau also restated a Group of Seven declaration on how Putin’s “activities bring shame on Russia and the historic order.”
