Forests must be protected against TikTokers.
Wildlife officials have asked that the government introduce legislation to safeguard the country’s woodlands in response to the rising trend of wildfires on TikTok these days.
A video of two young people lighting fire to the forest in Margalla Hills for a TikTok film received worldwide condemnation and outrage a few days ago. A TikToker can be seen lighting the woodland on fire with a lighter in the footage.
A female TikToker set the trees on fire in another viral video to add “dramatic effects.” To produce a dramatic effect for the viewers in the footage, dozens of trees were burned to ashes.
Another TikToker had previously set fire to a woodland in Abbottabad. He was afterwards taken into prison by Wildlife officials.
“This is a disturbing & disastrous trend on Tik Tok!” stated Chairperson Islamabad Wildlife Management Board Rina S Khan Satti, who shared the video of the female TikToker on her Twitter account. During this hot and dry season, desperate 4 followers are setting fire to our woodlands!”
She emphasized the importance of legislation by stating that individuals who cause wildfires in Australia face life in prison.
She went on to say, “We need to introduce comparable legislation.”

TikTok reacts
TikTok issued an official statement in response to the news, stating that “any content that promotes harmful or unlawful behavior would be a violation of our community guidelines and would not be allowed on our site.”
“We endeavor to delete, limit, or label content depicting harmful or illegal conduct.” We remain committed to user safety, and we encourage everyone to be cautious and responsible in their actions, whether online or offline.”
