Imran Khan’s chief security officer is a former SSG commando.
Following the government’s demand that the PTI choose a focal person, the party named a former SSG commando as Imran Khan’s chief security officer on Tuesday.
“Lt Col (retd) Asim has been designated as security in-charge of chairman Imran Khan,” the PTI stated on Twitter, following Imran Khan’s assertions that his life was in danger and a follow-up meeting at the PM Office on his security details.
Following that, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif convened a conference to examine security threats to the former prime minister and to provide directions for watertight security at his residence in Islamabad and during political rallies.
The prime minister has convened two threat assessments in this regard.
94 security officials will be posted to Imran Khan’s mansion in Bani Gala, according to an interior ministry spokesperson. There would be 22 Islamabad police officers and 72 Frontier Constabulary officers among them.
There will also be 26 officers from the security agency and nine military soldiers accessible.
Separately, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have dispatched 26 officers and Gilgit-Baltistan has sent six men to protect the former prime minister.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has asked provincial governments to provide enough protection for Imran Khan when he holds political rallies around the country.
Imran Khan will be escorted by four police vehicles, each with 23 officers, as well as a vehicle with five Rangers.
