Ed Sheeran and his wife Cherry have welcomed their second kid in secret.
Cherry gave birth to a daughter in September, a sister for first-born Lyra, who is now two.
Shape of You singer Ed – Britain’s biggest hit maker — made a moving statement, saying the couple are “both so in love” with the baby, who has yet to be named.
Ed, 31, posted a photo of a baby’s booties in an incubator, mimicking the one of tiny socks he used to announce Lyra’s birth.
“I want to let you all know we’ve had another beautiful baby daughter,” he exclaimed.
We are both madly in love with her and overjoyed to be together.
He told that he wanted to grow his family. However, the couple is said to have told just their closest family about their pregnancy.
Mum was also the term for Lyra’s birth, which they managed to keep a secret until two weeks before her arrival. But that was made easier by the shutdown.
“He just feels that when you’re in the public eye a lot, these things are even more important if you can keep them hidden,” an insider explained.
They’ve done a fantastic job of keeping everything hidden, but now it’s time to share their joyous news that their kid has arrived safely.
It’s a credit to the individuals he cares about and works with that this was never disclosed.
Ed has just finished the first stage of a world tour and will be back on the road next Thursday in Cardiff. He then goes through the United Kingdom and into Europe.
“Ed and Cherry recently welcomed a beautiful baby girl and are on cloud nine,” a spokesman said.
They are overjoyed for Lyra to have a little sister, and the four of them are currently enjoying some quality family time before Ed returns to the road.
“We are thrilled for them, and we hope you will respect their privacy during this wonderful time.”
Ed is estimated to be worth £250 million after selling over 150 million records globally.
He frequently credits Cherry, a business consultant, with keeping him grounded. The couple are ex-high school classmates and buddies.
