Prince George’s £18k gift from proud grandfather Charles is quite elegant.

When your grandfather is the Prince of Wales, you’d expect some very nice birthday presents – and Prince George got one for £18,000.

To commemorate his first birthday, the baby king was given a fairly expensive Wendy house to play in at his grandfather’s residence.

Given the high price, you’d think this playhouse would be a little more spectacular than your average children’s Wendy house.

With a wood-burning stove and a day bed, Prince George’s version is clearly more upscale.

It has been installed in the garden of Prince Charles’ residence, Highgrove, and is ready for the little prince, now eight years old, to play in with his siblings.

The Wendy house is a hand-hut,’ built ‘shepherd’s a 12ft x 6ft Victorian-style playhouse.

Visitors to Prince Charles‘ Gloucestershire residence can catch a glimpse of it during a guided tour of the 15-acre gardens.

The hut was given to Prince George as a birthday present by the Dorset-based company Plankbridge as a thank you for financing from the Prince’s Trust.
