Britain scorched by searing temperatures over the weekend.
Brits have been enjoying pleasantly warm weather over the last several days, with highs of 24 degrees Celsius reported in London and the south-east on Sunday.
Rain is expected to fall on Sunday night, changing the early summer conditions.
The Met Office expects that rain will fall at 3 a.m. on Monday, and that rain will fall across much of the United Kingdom by the middle of next week.
As wind speeds increase, the dismal spells will be punctuated by thunderclaps.
“Unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain for most, some heavy with a danger of thunder,” said a Met Office official.
