Thugs murdered an Uber driver.

Two pals who were found guilty of murdering an Uber driver who died as a result of severe head injuries were sentenced today.

On Halloween weekend last year, Connor McPartland, 20, and Martin Treacy, 18, boarded Ali Asghar’s Mercedes taxi.

Mr Asghar, 39, had stopped the cab after Treacy yelled at him after he requested the boy to stop eating a takeout in the rear of the car.

The argument began when McPartland misspelt the name of their chosen destination.

According to the source, the situation deteriorated and Mr Asghar was savagely beaten, suffering catastrophic head injuries.

McPartland was sentenced to 14 years and six months in prison today, and Treacy was sentenced to 14 years and six months.

The duo were out in Oldham town center on October 29 last year when McPartland booked an Uber to take them to Rochdale, according to Manchester Crown Court.

He died two weeks later, two weeks after the attack.

They intended to meet with women before going to a home party.

McPartland asked to be escorted to Coco’s in Rochdale, but he meant Koko’s, a town centre nightclub.

Coco’s is a restaurant located just outside of town.

The misunderstanding was cleared, but Mr Asghar soon pulled over because Treacy had begun eating a chicken burger and chips in the rear of the taxi.

Treacy cursed him and continued to eat.

Mr. Asghar was caught on camera pulling over.
