All WhatsApp users are advised to change their settings IMMEDIATELY because their messages are no longer secure.

ALL WhatsApp users should consider enabling a brilliant privacy feature known as “message timer.”

This allows you to set a timer for all new messages to automatically “unsend.”

It’s a clever method for increasing your privacy by deleting old WhatsApp messages.

Disappearing Messages can be set to turn on automatically for all new chats – without affecting existing conversations.

You can set times for 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days.

“Deciding how long a message should last should be in your hands,” WhatsApp stated.

“We’ve gotten into the habit of leaving a digital copy of almost everything we type without even thinking about it.”

It’s the equivalent of having a note taker following us around.

“This is why, last year, we introduced disappearing messages, and more recently, a way for photos and videos to disappear after being viewed once.”

The feature is currently available, so update to the most recent version of WhatsApp to try it out.

Disappearing Messages is enabled by default for all one-on-one chats.

And either party in the conversation can select the app setting.

It will not change or delete any of your existing chats, so don’t be concerned about losing old information.

A message will also be displayed informing those participating in the conversation that their messages will be deleted.

This notification will inform you of how much time you have left to read the texts before they vanish forever.

To access the feature, open WhatsApp and navigate to your Privacy Settings.

The new feature, which was added earlier this year, is categorized as Default Message Timer.

Of course, even with automatic text deletion, you’re not completely protected.

Someone could still expose text messages you sent a long time ago.

So, if you’re worried about something, consider unsending it sooner rather than later.

Remember to always think twice before sending any kind of private message that you might later regret.
