Pakistan top order crumbles on Day 4 of second test against Bangladesh

As Day 4 of the second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh unfolds, the match remains delicately poised with Pakistan holding a slim lead of 76 runs.

After bowling out Bangladesh for 262 in their first innings, Pakistan, who scored 274 in their first innings, are currently 117/6 in their second innings, with Muhammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel at the crease.

Pakistan lead by 129 runs as Bangladesh took four wickets in the session; young Nahid Rana deserves special recognition for taking three wickets in consecutive overs.

However, Rizwan’s dropped catch on the first ball of his innings is turning out to be a critical factor in the outcome of the Test match.

At the crease, both batters appear to be in good shape. Rizwan, who had previously been struck in the helmet by a bouncer delivered by Nahid Rana, struggled a little with it.

He needed to check in with the physiotherapist a few times. After lunch, Bangladesh will try to break the partnership as soon as possible.

Babar Azam went back to the pavilion with 11 runs. The Pakistani side has struggled to build a substantial lead, with Bangladesh’s bowlers, particularly Nahid Rana and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, applying consistent pressure.
