PCB urges players to support captains of all formats
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has urged players to fully support their captains in every situation, sources revealed during the PCB’s Strategic Connection Camp in Lahore.
The camp, attended by both players and coaches, focused on improving communication, and team spirit, and addressing concerns raised by the players.
According to sources, the PCB has conveyed to the players that fear of being dropped or losing the captaincy should not hinder their commitment to the team’s success.
All players, particularly those capable of performing across all three formats of the game, have been urged to work together to build a united front.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi reinforced the message of unity, stressing that success is only possible if players back one another and support their captain, irrespective of the format. To address ongoing concerns, the PCB plans to form a special committee independent of management, where players can freely voice their issues.
Sources indicate that players raised concerns over a lack of communication between them and both the international and domestic cricket departments.
During separate sessions with coaches and PCB officials, players discussed the need for a clear policy on workload management and selection processes. In response, the coaches and officials assured the players that their problems would be addressed.
