Nawaz extols PM Shehbaz, CM Maryam’s efforts for economic revival
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has extolled the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for leading the country towards the economic revival.
The three-time former prime minister admitted that the economic crunch is one of the biggest challenges faced by the country. He scoffed at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder over the matters pertaining to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
“We did bid adieu to the IMF, but it was the PTI founder who ensured the comeback of the international lender,” Nawaz said.
He acknowledged the economic indicators in the country, saying, “The hardships will be addressed soon if the things continue to move in a similar fashion.”
Recalling his ouster as the country’s premier back in 2017, the PML-N chief said: “When the economy in our era sounded good, the Supreme Court had toppled our government. The masses had not responded to our ouster in a way we expected.”
