Federal cabinet meeting postponed, rescheduled for March 26

The federal cabinet meeting, originally scheduled for today, has been postponed. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was set to chair the meeting, which will now take place on March 26.

The meeting was expected to discuss the country’s political and economic situation along with a 12-point agenda.

Key agenda items include the appointment of members to the Pakistan Ordnance Factory and Heavy Industries Taxila Board, as well as approval for signing a convention on international dispute resolution.

Additionally, the cabinet will approve an agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan and Hungary’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade to facilitate trade activities for diplomatic mission members.

Approval will also be given for a cooperation agreement on e-mobility between the Ministry of Industries and Production and the International Finance Corporation.

The meeting will review a summary from the Ministry of Interior regarding Islamabad High Court directives.

The Whistleblower Protection and Vigilance Commission Act, 2025 will also be discussed, and a decision will be made on assigning additional charge to the Chairman of the Pakistan Tobacco Board (PTB).
