Saudi Crown Prince MBS welcomes Pakistan-India ceasefire

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has welcomed the ceasefire between Pakistan and India, lauding the diplomatic efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump in promoting peace in South Asia.
Speaking at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit in Riyadh on Wednesday, the Crown Prince expressed strong support for regional peace, calling for a lasting resolution to the longstanding disputes between the two nations.
The Crown Prince emphasized that the GCC is committed to fostering stability in the region, extending his calls for peace beyond the subcontinent to include the ongoing conflict in Gaza. “We welcome the ceasefire between Pakistan and India,” said Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. “I will also welcome the resolution of their disputes, and commend the efforts of U.S. President Trump in seeking peace in South Asia.”
His remarks came as President Trump, speaking at the Saudi-U.S. Investment Forum, reiterated his hope that Pakistan and India would uphold the ceasefire agreement. “I believe it is in the best interests of both nations to focus on commerce rather than conflict,” Trump stated, urging both countries to set aside differences and prioritize economic collaboration.
Trump also acknowledged the positive role Pakistan had played in combating terrorism, particularly noting its cooperation in capturing a key ISIS terrorist responsible for the deaths of U.S. military personnel. “Pakistan’s cooperation has been invaluable in the fight against terrorism,” Trump remarked.
